Encountering Columbus – This video took me awhile to find and convert from VHS to the internet. This video was made by many students of the gifted art program from the elementary and middle schools of Winfield.

I’m posting, in chronological order, the movies I’ve made so they will organize that way.
Encountering Columbus (#-1)
Sorry, but there is no video, and the year of it’s making is unknown.
In Winfield Elementary School, our gifted art class was given an assignment; to make artwork out of Native Americans, Christopher Columbus, stuff in that historical period. I can’t remember if we knew or not, but someone was using all of that art for a stop-motion film project called “Encountering Columbus”. I remember one of my artworks made it into the film, and I helped move some of the characters on the screen while the guy was filming it. The film told what really happened when Christopher Columbus first landed here and his effects of the culture, and was not what we were learning in history class. This would be my first exposure to film making.
I was able to get a copy of the video on VHS, and discovered it rather recently before I moved to Baltimore. Perhaps I will upload it one day if I ever get a VCR.
