Small Press Expo (SPX) for 2011 was a great success. I did a lot more sales than I expected. It was fun getting so many people interested in the comic. Also, it was interesting how, The End #1 & #2 have completely different stories, but the sales for both were nearly identical when it came to people choosing just one of them (each issue is stand-alone).
I think the cover was really good as drawing attention to itself, as many people just flocked to the table based on the cover alone without even knowing what the series was about, so I really have to congratulate my cover artist Roby Haley for that.
It’s always fun to meet people I know at the convention and see what they are working on, as well as getting to know new people each year. Getting to talk to people about THEIR OWN comic books that they are making is always exciting.
It also sat down with my artist for my future comic project to go over the thumbnails of the first issue of a secret project. So, yes, there will still be more The End comic projects, but there are also more comics coming, so stay tuned for the website when they become available.
Now, on with the pictures.
And, if you saw this girl at my booth, that was my girlfriend Marcella Kim, attending her first comic book convention for an entire weekend by hanging out and helping me with sales. I got to introduce and show her this other life of mine that exists outside of a Social Security Administration building.
